GCMS is designed to be a simple, effective and powerful Content Management System to allow users to create and maintain websites with as little effort as possible. To run a website with GCMS you require no knowledge of HTML, CSS or PHP. However GCMS is very extensible due to its open source nature which means it is also a great choice for web developers and code geeks, like myself, to jump in and tailor GCMS to thier own needs.
If you have been following the progress of GCMS you will know that it has been down for a while due to a serious security flaw (which is now fixed). The reason it has taken so long to reappear is basically because I have been too busy. So I'm sure you might be glad to see that v1.2beta is now finally ready for release again.
So you can now download version v1.2b and try it for yourself. To run GCMS you will require PHP 4 and MySQL. Installation instructions are included in a readme.txt file in the download zip. I'm aware I'm not giving you very much information at the moment but this really is a beta version and will include bugs etc. which I don't have time to deal with just now.
There is now a Google Code Project for GCMS.
Yes thats right. GCMS is currently not in development. I just don't have enough time just now. It is, however, open source so please feel free to work on it and let me know what you do with GCMS. Any help I can get with the project would be much appreciated, but for thr forseeable fututre I'm afraid your on your own.
